Frequently Asked Questions
Why does TapSay need my location?
TapSay uses your real-time geolocation (like being in Paris or
Buenos Aires) to automatically fetch and display the correct local language (e.g., French or Spanish)
upon launching the app. This creates a zero-friction experience where you instantly receive local
translations without manual configuration. We do not store or track your exact GPS coordinates; the API
simply resolves to a country code.
How do I change the language if I don't want the default localized version?
You can effortlessly toggle your preferred language by swiping horizontally on the
bottom screen (the localized language icon bounded by arrows). This immediately replaces your dialect
choices and saves your state.
Do I need an active internet connection to use TapSay?
No! TapSay operates as a Progressive Web App (PWA) using robust offline-caching
mechanisms. If you install it or cache the page when you first get to your destination, you can freely
swipe through flashcards entirely offline, without incurring massive data roaming charges.
Is the app completely free and secure?
Yes, absolutely. We prioritize minimalist, private experiences. We run entirely
securely, do not ask you for an account to log in, and do not harvest behavioral profiles. The simple
location prompt is solely used to optimize your experience upon load.
